The Plantronics UKDota.net Invitational Play-day two Round up.

Plantronics Invitational

Today we saw the second day of The Plantronics UKDota.net Invitational featuring eight of the best teams in the UK, we've put together a run down of todays games. Who will be the victor in the claim for spoils from Plantronics Gamecom and The Creative Assembly.

Picks

Team Infused went for a rather greedy line-up in this game. Running alchemist as a support can be rewarding if the laning phase is successful and he can aspire to great things in the game however he did not get the success in the trilane which cause Infused to fall back in the game. Chen's early presence also helped out a great deal and in this case I feel Infused took too many core heroes who need to have a good start to be as effective as they can be.

Picks

Team rOtK showed a heavy dominance in both of these games from my perspective. They held down the Lifestealer strongly and prevent Infused from farming their core items as fast as they would have liked. rOtK had the natural advantage as the game proceeded with their larger/more efficient core heroes. Without Lifestealer getting the farm he needed while rOtK were farming superbly they proceeded to dominate the game throughout.

Match Two.

Reason Gaming

Game 1

Picks

With Reason running a trademark team composition of Outworld Devourer middle, safe lane Alchemist with a dual support of Leshrac and Naga, the off-lane Nature's Prophet stood no chance whatsoever of holding his lane. An early gang from Mirana changed the dynamic of the middle lane and gave 1cHiGo_ a commanding lead over the Razor, who by all rights would otherwise have won his lane. Compounding Fullstop's difficulties was the fact that weaver had very little farm and aggressive play from the Mirana forced the Bane and Jakiro into awful positions where they were easily picked off. All of these factors added up to Reason gaining a gold and experience lead over their opponents, with the Alchemist getting 6 slotted incredibly early, it was only a matter of time before they breached high ground and destroyed Shoe and his team.

Picks

Fullstop picked up an interesting team composition which looked as though it could weather the storm of Reason's aggressive line-up however this was not the case. As in game 1, Reason took a commanding lead with their defensive tri-lane of Morphling, Io and Earthshaker able to hold steady against the Keeper of the Light and Visage harrassment. Although Troll Warlord got first blood against the Tusk at mid, the fact that Nature's Prophet demolished the Shadow Fiend in a 1v1 and the damage potential of the aggressive tri-lane was no match for Reason's positional play, the Morphling soon balled out of control. On top of this free farm super carry, the Tusk was given free reign to snowball into fights and dominate engagements with Mute242's Earthshaker picking up an early blink dagger causing all sorts of problems. Once again, it was only a matter of time before Fullstop's morale took a massive hit when Infernokoi picked up his ethereal blade and put an end to any form of comeback Shoe and his team were looking for.
