The Plantronics UKDota.net Science Cup

We’re opening up our schedule this year with a one day cup, giving away up to £500 of prizes! Taking place on Saturday February 22nd, the competition will be open to 16 teams, where combatants will fight it out in a double elimination bracket to see who will be crowned UKDota.net Scientists, taking home 5 RIG Headsets, kindly sponsored by Plantronics.

The competition will be streamed live on Twitch.tv in coordination with our partners, Multiplay and will be casted by JoeShow and durka.

Sign ups are now open and operate on a first come first served basis. Once 16 slots are filled, replacement team registrations will be accepted and the teams will be notified if a slot opens up.

Check-ins will take place over at #sciencecup IRC channel on Quakenet. Check-in will open at 10am, with first rounds taking place at 11am.

Rules:

• The tournament format is double elimination with best-of-ones throughout the brackets, best-of-threes for Winner and Loser bracket finals and Winner Bracket advantage in the finals.

• 3 out of 5 players in every team must be from UK or Ireland.

• Stand-ins who are already taking part in the tourney cannot be used, i.e. no person can play for more than one team.

• Games are to start within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.

• Any external tools that directly provide an advantage in game are forbidden.

• Any abuse towards other players or admins will not be tolerated and can result in disqualification from the tournament.

• Only players, casters and UKDota.net staff are allowed into the game lobbies.

• Lobby settings are as follows:

• Server: Luxembourg

• Game type: Captain’s Mode

• Version: Tournament

• Spectators: Enabled

• Dota2 TV Delay: 2 minutes

Anything not stated above that requires admin intervention will be decided on at the admins' discretion.
